บำรุงชาติสาสนายาไทย หรือ บ้านหมอหวาน อาคารเก่าแก่สไตล์โคโลเนียล ย่านเสาชิงช้า เป็นมรดกจาก นายหวาน รอดม่วง แพทย์แผนโบราณ บ้านหลังนี้ได้ตกทอดสู่ทายาทรุ่นเหลน และยังคงทำหน้าที่เป็นทั้งบ้านและสถานที่ปรุง ยาแผนโบราณ ของ หมอหวาน สืบต่อกันมากว่า 4 ชั่วอายุคน โดยภายในตัวอาคารยังคงเต็มไปด้วยโบราณวัตถุนานาชนิด ที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวความเป็นมาในอดีต ตลอดจน ยาหอมโบราณ กว่าร้อยปีทั้ง 4 ตำรับของ หมอหวาน ซึ่งเคยได้รับความนิยมอย่างมากในอดีต ก็ยังคงได้รับการถ่ายทอดทั้งกรรมวิธีและกระบวนการผลิตแบบดั้งเดิมด้วยเครื่องมือโบราณที่ใช้ในการปรุงยาขายให้กับลูกค้าเก่าแก่มากว่า 100 ปี อาคารหลังนี้ได้รับรางวัลอนุรักษ์ศิลปะสถาปัตยกรรมดีเด่นประจำปี พ.ศ.2557 จากสมาคมสถาปนิกสยามในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์
บ้านหมอหวาน อาคารสไตล์โคโลเนียล อาคารก่ออิฐถือปูน แบ่งเป็นสองส่วน คือ อาคารชั้นเดียวหลังคาตัดเรียบเป็นส่วนของเฉลียง และอาคารสองชั้นหลังคาคลุม ตกแต่งอาคารด้วยลวดลายปูนปั้นบริเวณหน้าบันทางเข้าอาคาร บริเวณขอบบนของผนังอาคาร และมีการทำกันสาดเหนือบานหน้าต่าง
