วัดพระยายังตั้งอยู่เลขที่ 1 ถนนพระราม 6 ตัดใหม่ แขวงถนนเพชรบุรี เขตราชเทวี กรุงเทพมหานคร สังกัดคณะสงฆ์ธรรมยุต วัดพระยายังสร้างขึ้นในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 ประมาณ พ.ศ. 2390 ผู้สร้างคือ พระยามหานิเวศนานุรักษ์ (ยัง รักตะประจิตต์) ท่านเป็นคุณตาของพระพี่นางเธอ พระองค์เจ้าวรลักษณาวดีในเจ้าจอมมารดาสุต รัชกาลที่ 5 เมื่อได้สร้างวัดขึ้นมาแล้วชาวบ้านจึงได้เรียกนามวัดตามนามเดิมของผู้สร้างว่า วัดพระยายัง วัดนี้ได้รับพระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมาเมื่อประมาณ พ.ศ.2394
