วัดชำนิหัตถการ ตั้งอยู่เลขที่ 199 ถนนพระราม 1 แขวงรองเมือง เขตปทุมวัน กรุงเทพมหานคร สังกัดคณะสงฆ์มหานิกาย วัดชำนิหัตถการ หรือที่ชาวบ้านเรียกกันว่า วัดสามง่าม เดิมมีนามอีกนามหนึ่งว่า วัดพิกุลทองเป็นวัดเก่าแก่สร้างมานาน ครั้นเมื่อประมาณ พ.ศ. 2367 พระยาชำนิหัตถการได้มาทำการบูรณะก่อสร้างขึ้นใหม่ แล้วขนานนามว่า วัดพระยาชำนิ ต่อมาพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 4 โปรดพระราชทานนามให้ใหม่เป็น วัดชำนิหัตถการ เพื่อเป็นเกียรติอนุสรณ์แก่พระยาชำนิหัตถการผู้สร้างวัด วัดนี้ได้รับพระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมาเมื่อประมาณ พ.ศ.2447
