สะพานนี้ทอดข้ามคลองโอ่งอ่างเชื่อมระหว่างปลายถนนเยาวราชกับถนนเยาวราชซึ่งบริเวณดังกล่าวเคยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวังสมเด็จเจ้าฟ้ากรมพระยาภาณุพันธ์ (วังบูรพา) ลักษณะเดิมเป็นอย่างไรไม่ปรากฏแน่ชัดแต่สันนิษฐานว่าคงจะเป็นสะพานแบบเดียวกับสะพานเหล็กเดิมที่ถนนเจริญกรุงต่อมาภายหลังได้มีการดัดแปลงเป็นสะพานคอนกรีต ที่มา1. ศิลปากร,กรม. จดหมายเหตุการอนุรักษ์กรุงรัตนโกสินทร์. กรุงเทพฯ 2525. ศิลปากร,กรม.2. รายงานการสำรวจโบราณสถานในกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ เล่ม 2 (ประเภทศาสนสถาน)

เป็นสะพานคอนกรีตคล้ายกับสะพานดำรงสถิตย์แต่ต่างกันตรงลูกกรงราวสะพานซึ่งทำเป็นลูกกรงเหลี่ยมแบบไทยและมีเสาโคมประดับที่ปลายสะพานทั้งสองด้าน ตัวสะพานมีขนาดกว้าง13.5 เมตรยาว28.6 เมตร ราวสะพานสูง2.5 เมตร

สภาพปัจจุบัน · Present condition

ผนังคอนกรีตที่ราวสะพานชำรุดและแตกร้าวมากอยู่ในขั้นที่ควรมีการบูรณะสีถลอกเสียหาย บริเวณใกล้ๆ สะพานมีการปลูกสร้างร้านค้าคล่อมคลองทำให้บดบังความงดงามของตัวสะพาน
